ELMA

The City of Elma, incorporated on March 22, 1888, lies within the Chehalis River valley in Eastern Grays Harbor County. Elma is conveniently located about 30 miles west of Olympia and 40 miles east of Washington’s beautiful Pacific Coast. Elma is also home to the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds and Event Center, where weekly activities bring people from around the region. In August, come to the annual Grays Harbor County Fair, with first-rate entertainment, displays, vendors, and exhibits.

MCCLEARY

The City of McCleary was founded as a logging camp in late 1898 and was incorporated on January 6, 1943. McCleary currently has a population of 1,555. After coming to the area to log cedar, Henry McCleary built his first mill in McCleary in 1906. In 1923 the plant broke all records by producing over 300,000 doors in sixty days, an average of six boxcars a day. McCleary is also home to the McCleary Bear Festival, held the second weekend in July.

MONTESANO

The City of Montesano is the county seat of Grays Harbor County, Washington, with a population of 3,700. Montesano is located approximately 10 miles east of Aberdeen and 40 miles west of Olympia in Eastern Grays Harbor County, providing close proximity to hospitals, colleges, shopping, and recreation. Montesano is conveniently situated as the gateway to Washington’s pristine coastal beaches and the scenic Olympic Peninsula and is also home to a great car show in July and the unique Festival of Lights each December.

Montesano is also home to Lake Sylvia State Park. It is a quiet, 233-acre camping park with 15,000 feet of freshwater shoreline. The park is an old logging camp in a wooded area. The lake is good for fishing, and the rustic charm of the park makes for excellent day outings and camping trips.
